Konnichiwa ! We`d like to share information about several scholarships for foreign students again. As mentioned the previous post, there are 4 types of scholarship for international students who study in Japan below, 1. Japanese government (MEXT) Scholarships 2. Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) Scholarships 3. Local governments / Local International Associations Scholarships 4. Private Foundations Scholarships
This post talks about the 2nd type provided by JASSO.

This independent administrative institution established under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) offers two kinds of scholarships for various international students. This DO NOT include the age limit, designated Japanese schools to attend nor designated courses to major in in Japan.
1. Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students ・・・1 year (from April until March) / ¥48,000 per month ¥30,000 (for Japanese language institution students) 2. Student Exchange Support Program (Scholarship for Short-term Study in Japan) ・・・8 days to 12 months / ¥80,000 per month
